Graphite Notebook

The stock notebooks on reMarkable and Kindle Scribe have no table of contents and no links. This undated PDF notebook adds them: 10 tabbed sections, each with its own index page where every number opens its page. Write the topic beside the page number once, and find it again with two taps.

What's inside each file

211 pages per file:

A cover with a big box for the notebook's name.
10 index pages, one per section, with 20 numbered lines each: 200 entries. Each number links to its page and has a writing line beside it.
10 sections of 20 pages, numbered 1 to 200. The first page of each section has a box for the section name.
A top bar on every page: Index, Section, ‹ ›, page number. Side tabs 1 to 10; the dark one is the section you are in.

Any page is at most 3 taps from any other: tab, Index, number.

Dot grid, 5 mm, with dark dots at 45% black so they stay visible on e-ink.

Right-handed files have the tabs on the right, away from a left-side toolbar; left-handed files are mirrored.

Checked before release

All 117,200 links in the 40 files, 2,930 per file, are opened by three independent PDF readers and checked by script against what is printed on the pages: every index number lands on the page with that number, every tab on the first page of its section, ‹ › on the previous and next page, and Index on the index of that page's section. Tap targets are at least 3.5 mm, navigation 6 mm or more, and the paper is measured: dots exactly 5 mm apart, lines 7 mm, grid squares 5 mm. The report is included in the download.

Files are about 0.2 MB each, vector only, so page turns stay fast.

Good to know

Undated: start any day, use one file per subject, copy it again for a fresh notebook.
Needs a tablet or app that opens PDFs and follows PDF links. Also works in GoodNotes and Notability on iPad.
The notebook pages are in English.
